Christmas Past 1978

At Grandma and Grandpa Pratt's home at 982 Jasper Circle, SLC, Utah. This is the same family room where John proposed marriage across from the fire place which the family is standing here. Kay and Lee were wonderful grandparents and always had fun with you children. Grandmother Pratt was a real Santa Elf and loved to make it fun for everyone. There were plenty of candy, cookies and lots

of excited children. She knew how to make things real exciting and fun. She spent hours planning and preparing for the Christmas stockings, the goodies, and presents. Here Julie and Johnny are enjoying the occasion. Grandma was the talk of the meeting and grandpa would always quietly nod and listen. He was the saintly type.

Grandmother and Grandfather McOmber

My parents came to visit us while we lived in Layton, Utah. They were very fond of you grandchildren. Since they were temple workers at the Idaho Falls temple, we only saw them on special occastions and church visits. Dad always had his teaching pencils in his pockets, so common since he was always correcting paper, writing notes etc. He only lived a few years after this picture.

Grandfather Calvin McOmber

This is Julie when she was a little adorable 4 year old, living in Layton, Utah. How my paretns loved you and I just wish Dad could have lived longer to enjoy all five of you. He was so wonderful as a father, a teacher, a servant of the Lord. How blessed we are to have such a rich heritage.
Love, to you all, Mom

Christmas past, 1974

I was trying to see some of the pictures of when you children were young, and here is a start. We were in Tucson and sent out this little cute picture of John C. and Julie Kay and how we looked as students in Tucson. Really, it was your dad who was the student, but I was certainly getting my education as being a new mother. How cute is this?

Praise to the MOMs

My hat goes off to all of you for your wonderful work and the duties of home. This is the work and the glory of the Lord. Let us not forget it. The little souls are pure as snow, as my mother would say. They are great little intelligences just wainting to happen. I love to see their great minds and experiences. We love you all,

Triathalon or Trygramomathon

This last week was a real bawl. I had a lot of Diaper patrol, kissing Boo-boos, reading lost of stories, cleaning spills, and having spells.
Lots of cuties and lots of cooties, lots of joys, and lots of toys.
Pick your dish, and no picking your nose, follow the rules and stop the "No' s".
Joy was felt when mommy came home and Daddy too, squeals of happiness was ours to view
Good thing God gave babies to young moms, you see. Cause Grandma's aint got the mush no more (except on the floor).
PS It was lots of fun too, and I enjoyed the trio of joy!!!
They all are darling and I made it to the finish line!!!Love MOM rmp

2007- Rachel is blessed

Rachel was blessed over Labor Day Weekend in Nampa, Idaho. Our car broke down before we made it to Nampa, so we had a tow truck take us into Burley, ID. We are grateful to trusting Idahoans who lent us the owner's daughter's red car so that we could get to the blessing in time. John and Ruth with Jen, Jared little Rachel, Aliza, and Madeline.

Calvin and Frances as temple workers

My parents, Calvin and Frances Brodil McOmber were workers in the Idaho Falls temple, under John Groberg Sr. These were wonderful years in my parents lives. They were dedicated and loved to serve in the Lord's house. My father married my husband John and I in 1970, Aug. 14th. It was so wonderful to have such a wonderful father to perform that ceremony. They were examples of honesty and integrity in all they did and in all they said. I appreciate them so very much!!!

The public was invited to enjoy with the dance fest. The mucis was very fun and put one in a very festive happy mood. The BYU Folk dancers did some very nice western dances. They wore long pioneer dresses and really had a good time.

After the dances we had some great home made bread with Calvin and Ann and visited my brother Charles. It was special to see him lookin well and, bless his heart, looking himself (very heart wrenching to me at times.)

The air was just a little misty with a little faint spray of water and it made the mountains so very lovely. This is a neat picture don't you think?

I wish I could stay a week here and not just drive through in a hurry.
We loved this trip.
